Alphaville joined exhibition ‘Modern Ger Exhibition’ in September 2015, in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

5 Japanese architects joined this exhibition. Members of it are Youngil Lee, Tomohiro Hata, Yoichiro Hayashi (NAAD), KEI KAIHOH and Kentaro Takeguchi (Alphaville). They proposed how to modernize amazing GER responding to modern living with the various view with different scale.

Alphaville proposed new surface for traditional GER structure.

 

BRIGHT INSULATION FABRIC FOR GER

We designed the new fabric of Ger instead of traditional felt. We make use of the original frame of Ger. Just changing the original felt to this new fabric, the Ger can obtain the bright and comfortable space. The new fabric is made of air bubble resin painted with recent invented insulation paint*.
We have to develop the strength of the fabric, but residence of the new contemporary Ger finds its new spatial value which has existed already in original Ger.

*New insulation paint is developed from NASA technology.
