ARAYASHIKI – THE SENSE OF OUR SENSES
Is it possible to create a sensation of space that allows for a state of mind beyond the senses themselves? Arayashiki defines an
all-encompassing consciousness which unifies both physical and mental impressions into emerging possibilities of life. Like a
memory of the future, this installation inhabits the gallery of the Kizunaya Building, originally a workshop for mourning jewellery.
A tunnel-shaped space amplifies – by compression – the impression of changing soundscapes and invites to a momentary
union with these voices of nature, between inside and outside.
Once an hour, an improvisational dance performance will interpret this space.
